Paradise Gardens

In this workshop, young artists will learn about the role of the paradise garden in Islamic civilization and culture. A garden is a representation of the archetype of a heavenly experience that joins fragrance, beauty, refreshment and relaxation. After feasting on visuals with stunning examples throughout history, from Spain and other regions, students will undertake making their own garden with live moss, lavender buds, and cloves. They will also color in an arabesque backdrop and sculpt their own fountain.
